What is Coefficient of Performance or COP?
Coefficient of Performance or COP is a way of measuring the efficiency of the unit in cooling and heating against its power usage. The higher the COP the more efficient the unit is. A good quality air conditioner or heating unit should have a minimum of 3 COB. Another rating system is the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) which is also related to COP.
How is COP different from SEER?
SEER is used on countries with varied seasons because it considers the seasonal factor in measuring the rating.
